Martin Avenue Shops is a family-owned local business that was created by a dream and a vision. Since 2016, Martin Avenue Shops has worked hard to provide Newark, IL and surrounding communities a unique shopping experience along with a wide range of products and services. Locals describe us as an “old fashioned” country store, while we say, “We are eight stores in one.”
 
The dream began in 2015. After working 20 plus years for his father, Matthew Marks, son of Thomas Marks, President and founder of Martin Avenue Pharmacy, Inc. in Naperville, wanted something different. With the blessing of his father, Martin Avenue Shops, Inc. was created. After a location was found, a once empty retail store in Newark, IL began to fill with not only products that Martin Avenue was known for since 1973 but special memories he had as a child. Our doors opened on October 13^th, 2016.



Bringing the medical services once only offered by Martin Avenue Pharmacy in Naperville, IL and memories from his childhood, the store began to be filled. Providing the best products at reasonable prices has helped the business grow, but it is the relationships and conversations with our guests, which has made Martin Avenue Shops what it is today.
